CVCA started their 2007 season with four wins in Florida, beating Lake Center Christian 7-3, Georgetown Prep 9-3, Episcopal 4-2, and Tenefly 13-3. They looked great and really played fantastic baseball. Everyone was generating hits and runs with some really awesome hits all through the batting order. Each starting pitcher did a super job and the closers finished each game nicely.
David pitched the Georgetown game, throwing 6 innings on only 78 pitches, with 73% strikes! He had several K's, (four I think), one walk and two earned runs.
Overall, David batted around .350, with one double and four singles, three walks, and only 1 strikeout, generating 5 RBI's.

David came to bat in the forth with the bases loaded and hit the first pitch out over the left field fence for a Grand Slam! The ball looked to be foul at first, but with a little help from the wind it drifted back into play and landed in the parking lot.
David got a chance to shine again in the 8th inning with runners on first and third and a full count, he slapped a high fast ball into mid right center field to drive in the winning run!
CVCA Beats Fairless in Freezing Weather
CVCA pulled out another great win! David got the start on this cold evening and pitched four scoreless innings giving up only a couple hits, as CVCA won 7 - 6.
It was a pitcher's battle and after four scorless innings by both teams, Fairless took advantage of a couple of errors in the fifth to get runners into scoring position. They scored one run on an error, then with the bases loaded, their number four hitter, on a full count pitch, smacked a hanging curve into left center to clear the bases and put Fairless up 4 - 1.
CVCA never gave up, and going into the 7th inning down 6 - 1, they ralled to score five runs and tie the game. The tieing run was driven in by David on a long sacrafice fly to left field.
Josh Kopsik came in to close in the seventh and pitched two great innings to shut down the Fairless offense and get the win!
CVCA scored the winning run on an over throw by the catcher attempting a fake pickoff. The ball bounced out of the second baseman's mit and into center field, allowing Robert Peccio to score.
CVCA Suffers First Loss
CVCA fought a hard battle but lost it in the 7th inning 4 - 3, when a run scored on a fielding error. David had a nice hit in the 6th inning to drive in the tieing run but it wasn't quite enough.
CVCA Beaten by Woodridge
Woodridge took advantage of their bats and put a whooping on CVCA 12 - 2. David only got to the plate twice, but got on base both times with a double in the first when he drove it to the left field fence and he was hit by a pitch on the second attempt. Overall the CVCA bats were dead with a young freshman pitcher getting nearly everyone to chase junk that mostly didn't even make it to the plate.
