Wait Until Next Year!
CVCA had a great season, but next year should be better, they will return 12 Varsity players.
The season kicks off in Florida over spring break, March 24th - 31st.

CVCA Loses a Tough One to St. V-M
After a sloppy first four innings, CVCA tied up the game a 3-3 in the 6th.  David came in to pitch in the 5th and shutdown the St V bats for two innings, but gave up the Bomb after an error allowed a would be third out to get to first.  The next batter up was the number 4 hitter.  David got him into a 2-2 count and tried to put him away with a curve that hung just enough for the big man to jack it over the left field fence.  The final was 5-3 after CVCA failed to put up any runs in the 7th.
CVCA Whoops up on Fairless
The bats were HOT last night as CVCA scored 19 runs in 6 innings.  David hit 2 - 3 with a double, single, sac fly, and a walk.  He got in to pitch for one inning but didn't get much work, retiring the side with an amazing 5 pitches and one K.
CVCA rolls over Tusla
CVCA found their bats for this game, putting up 14 hits, 3 HR's and a dazzling defensive show to dominate Tusla 12 - 2.  David was the starting pitcher, giving up one run on three hits in four innings.  He also had one of the home runs and went 2 for 3 with another nice hit down the third base line.
Spanked by Tusky Valley
TV pitching dominated CVCA, allowing only 4 hits and two runs.  First time they were mercied this year.  What else can I say ...Ouch!
CVCA Splits with Medina
CVCA lost the first game of a double header Saturday morning, 7 - 2, only putting three hits on the board.  The second game was much better with the offense kicking in for 11 hits and 7 runs, winning 7 - 3.  David was the starting pitcher for the second game, throwing 72 pitches in 5 complete innings.  He gave up 7 hits and two runs, getting his 1st high school win!
They lost another...
CVCA lost to Canton Timken 6 - 3, in a game that was riddled with errors and a lack of hitting.  David didn't start the game but did come in the 5th & 6th innings to pitch.  He gave up one run each inning, but both innings were plagued with errors.  This loss drops their record to 12 - 7 overall and 4-3 in the PAC.  This leaves them one game behind Tuslaw & Tusky Valley, and tied with Timken.
This Saturday they host a double header to Medina Highland.  Time to get the bats fired up and focus on the basics of catching and throwing so they can put up two W's and prepare for a tough schedule next week.
CVCA Is Back to Winning!
After dropping two over the weekend to Nordonia, Friday night, and Woodridge, Saturday morning, CVCA is back to winning two in a row.  David pitched the second game of the double header Saturday and held Woodridge to just two runs in six innings.  The offense kicked in the seventh inning, tieing the game up at two each, then scored the winning run in the 8th.  Excellent closing pitching by Fabres and Silk kept the Bulldogs from scoring anymore runs.
Last night the Royals put up another big offensive game, outscoring Manchester 12 - 3.  Kyle Silk pitched an excellent game, giving up only one run in 6 innings.  David sat out most of the game, resting his arm after 107 pitches Saturday, but came in the 6th inning.  He managed to get one at bat and scorched a line drive down the left field line that hit the fence for a double.
CVCA Wins Another!
The Royals beat Western Reserve Academy 5 - 3 Thursday in a game that got really close in the last inning.  With two on and one out, pitcher Nate Lance managed to get out of the inning giving up only one run.  David ripped another nice hit to right center with two on and scored another RBI.  He has batted 4 for 8 with three walks in the last three games, accumulating 6 RBI's in those games.
The Royals extend their winning streak to five games and their record is now 10 - 4.
Next up is Nordonia, away, tonight.
CVCA is on a Roll!
The CVCA varsity baseball team continues it's winning streak with another huge win, beating Triway HS 12 - 2.  David contributed 2 hits, driving in two RBI's, on a hard struck grounder up the middle and a well placed line drive to right center.  David also fielded three hits down third base, the best being a diving stab caught at the bag, he sprung up, and fired to first to beat the runner by 2 steps!
In the last four games CVCA has out scored their opponents 44 - 4.
